In the early Eighties, Sade signed with Epic Papers and recorded her first lp, Diamond Life, in 1984. Sade was born Helen Folasade Adu on January 16, 1959, in Ibadan, Nigeria.

Lifted in London by her Equitably mother, Sade developed several interests as a teen, including revelation, fashion design and modeling. She sang with a few shut down bands before signing with Chivalrous Records and recording her leading album, Diamond Life, in 1984.
